Panchangam is a Hindu Almanac. “Pancha” means five and “anga” means limbs. The five limbs of Panchangam are Thithi, Vaara, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana. The positions of the Sun and Moon and the stars, are used to know the quality of the astrological combinations at any viever time. The elements of the Panchangam are not merely measures of time and space, but are living celestial divinities whose daily blessings are auspicious and always well intended.
In our Veda-Agamic lifestyle before every ritual we become concious of the tiem and place we are in and make the intention (Sankalpa) to become reality. During the Sankalpa, we chant the panchanga details to record our intention in the Cosmos.
This year’s calendar is theme after the Nithyanandeshwara Sadashiva Devasthanam and it’s annual celebrations.
